PRINT301: Printer unreachable

What this means

The selected printer cannot be reached.

Check that the printer is powered on and connected, then try printing again.

Your data

No order or product data is affected.

Troubleshoot

  1. Check the printer is powered on and its cable or network connection is seated.
  2. For a printer the till talks to directly over the local network, confirm the till and printer are on the same network and the printer's address has not changed — DHCP renewals can move it; if it has, update the printer's address where you set it up in the POS.
  3. For a cloud-printed receipt the till and printer do not need to share a network; what to check depends on the delivery model (Cloud printing):
    • Star CloudPRNT or Epson Server Direct Print (the printer polls WCPOS): the printer card in the POS shows Waiting until the printer has checked in. Confirm the printer has internet access and that its poll URL and token match what WCPOS generated — see Printer stuck on Waiting.
    • Star Online: the card shows the device status Star Online reports; a device marked Offline or Unknown needs attention in the Star Online dashboard, not on the till.
    • PrintNode: the computer running the PrintNode desktop client must be awake with the client online, and the printer selected in the POS must match the one the client reports — see PrintNode job never prints.
  4. Print a self-test from the printer itself to confirm the hardware works, then try again from the POS.
