# CLIENT171: Clock out of sync

## What this means[](#what-this-means "Directe link naar What this means")

This device's clock and your store's clock are more than a minute apart.

Set this device's date and time to update automatically. If it already does, ask the site admin to check the server's clock.

WCPOS compares this device's clock with the time your store's server reports in its replies. When they are more than a minute apart, order times, receipts and reports may be off until the two clocks agree.

## Your data[](#your-data "Directe link naar Your data")

Sales are still saved. Only the times recorded on them may be off while the clocks disagree.

## Troubleshoot[](#troubleshoot "Directe link naar Troubleshoot")

1. Expand the log entry: it shows how far apart the two clocks are and which one is ahead.
2. Open this device's date and time settings and turn on automatic (network) time and time zone.
3. **Site admin:** if the device was already set to update automatically and its time is right, the server's clock is the wrong one. Ask the host to check the server's date, time and time zone.
4. Reopen WCPOS after the fix. The clocks are compared again each time a store is opened, and the warning stops once they agree.
